Happy Birthday to the Get Crafty Box!

I love a good monthly subscription box, but if you would’ve asked me back when I started my business in 2019, creating a crafty subscription box was not even on my list of goals. I had no idea then what was coming, and how important craft-at-home kits and things like that were about to be! When Covid-19 entered the picture, I had to close my shop for a while, and even though it was a global pandemic, I still had to pay the rent. So, I gloved and masked up, and pulled together things I had in my shop to create any kinds of kits that could keep people occupied while they were stuck at home. It was those kits, and the wonderful local folks who stopped by and picked them up, that helped me get through that time. I guess that’s what led me to even think about a monthly craft kit. Anyway, we’ve come a long way since then!

The First Get Crafty Box

In January of 2021, I shipped out my first batch of boxes. My goal with the Get Crafty Box was to include everything you need to complete the project, right in the box. I like to tell people that they can just take the box out to the middle of the parking lot and craft their project, and they won’t need anything else! I wanted the projects to be easy enough, but also something that people could be proud of. I want them to show their family and friends and say, “I made this!”

I’m excited with how far the Get Crafty Box has come, and I’m excited to see how much farther it can go (the farthest I’ve shipped one is Alaska)!
